Governor Inslee please veto HB1923 and say no to developer special interests. The bill weakens SEPA and takes away the public's right to comment.
As the Seattle Times says in a well-written editorial, "It would be especially disappointing to see the most pro-environment presidential candidate sign a bill prioritizing special interests over the public’s ability to seek redress under his state’s signature environmental policy."

This bill is a typical “end run” by the local developer community when it’s not getting its way. For us downtown residents, the "deal breaker" is that it would allow cities to write blanket growth policies preventing residents from appealing individual projects that might have significant transportation impacts. This would be blatantly wrong, unfair, not environmentally sound, and nothing but a windfall for developer interests.
CALL GOVERNOR INSLEE TODAY AT (360) 902-4111 AND ASK HIM TO VETO HB 1923.
Please veto HB1923 and say no to developer special interests. The bill weakens SEPA and takes away the public's right to comment.
